Treebar
Your Codex worktrees, at a glance.
View on the App Store
About the project
When several Codex tasks are running across different worktrees, it is easy to lose track of what is active and what has changed. Treebar brings that work into a small, native macOS surface you can open from the notch or menu bar.
See what is active
Keep an eye on recent Codex worktrees and task activity without switching between repository windows.
Inspect the changes
See Git status, changed files, and diffs alongside the work they belong to.
Keep your work local
Treebar reads your repositories and Codex activity without modifying them. Folder access stays under your control.
Who is Treebar for?
Treebar is for developers running Codex tasks across several local Git worktrees. It helps you follow activity and inspect changes without repeatedly switching between repositories.
Install Treebar
- Install Treebar from the Mac App Store and open it.
- Use the macOS folder pickers to grant read-only access to the folders Treebar needs to monitor.
- Open Treebar from your Mac’s notch or the menu bar.
Follow your Codex worktrees
- Run your Codex tasks in their local worktrees.
- Open Treebar to see recent activity grouped by repository, alongside branch and Git change information.
- Expand a worktree to inspect its changed files, working-tree status, and recent Codex actions.
Requirements and limitations
- macOS 14 or later.
- Local Codex activity and Git worktrees to monitor, with access granted to the relevant folders.
- A physical notch is optional: the menu-bar view provides an alternative.
Treebar is a read-only companion. It does not edit repositories or commit changes, and it can only inspect folders you grant access to. It does not require Full Disk Access, Accessibility, or Screen Recording permission.
