Privacy, without the fog.
This policy explains what this personal site collects when you join the updates list, why it is collected and the choices you have.
Who is responsible
Cory Parry, an independent developer based in the UK, is the data controller for information collected through this site. You can contact Cory about your information using the privacy request form below.
What is collected
The updates form collects your email address, the date and source of your consent, and whether you later unsubscribe. A privacy request also records your email address, request type and any message you choose to provide. This site does not use those details for profiling or automated decision-making.
Why it is used
Your email address is used only to send occasional updates about Cory’s writing, software and experiments. The lawful basis is your consent. Privacy-request details are used only to respond to that request.
Storage and sharing
The information is stored in a Cloudflare-hosted database used by this site. It is not sold or shared for another organisation’s marketing. Service providers may process it only as needed to host the site, store the records or deliver emails once an email service is connected.
How long it is kept
Active subscription details are kept until you withdraw consent. After unsubscribing, the address is retained on a suppression list so it is not accidentally added to future mailings. Privacy requests are reviewed and removed when they are no longer needed to demonstrate that the request was handled.
Your choices and rights
You can withdraw consent at any time. You may also ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its use, or object to how it is handled. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you remain concerned.
Make a privacy request
Send the request from the address connected with your subscription so it can be identified and answered.
